### First Impression

From here, the ride began in what were then **Europe’s fastest elevators** – an experience that marked the start of a whole new perspective on Vienna.

### Tradition with Speed

The Donauturm elevators were the fastest in Europe when the tower opened in 1964 – built by **Ing. St. Sowitsch & Co.**
What makes them special: To this day, each ride is accompanied by a **lift operator** – a charming tradition that has been upheld for over 60 years.
